Move (my dream - 06/06/12)

Move (my dream - 06/06/12)

Here we were all sitting in a waiting room
Ten of us,
all strangers,
when in walked a man in a fine gray suit
Announcing – Danger!
Everyone - stay in this room, don’t move,
or discuss this amongst you
We obeyed,
sat staring at each other,
with suspicion
Then one man made a decision
He rose up and walked out the door
I followed,
then the rest
Surging
Emerging
This was a test
The fine gray suit had a theory to prove
If given an order the mass will not move
out of fear
It’s a smear campaign
for control you know
It’s subliminal,
criminal
Don’t buy it
Rise up
Try it
You have nothing to lose
Move

Ride Your Canoe in the Middle

Ride Your Canoe in the Middle

Every river has two sides
It’s one of life’s little riddles
To avoid a rift ~ the shallow, the swift,
ride your canoe in the middle
Same goes for Political Parties
Don’t stand for the left or the right
One may be too loose/the other, uptight
and no single side is right
Stay in the middle
Avoid the fight,
the black/or white ~ the day/or night
If I am right ( maybe just a little )
ride your canoe in the middle

Planet X

Planet X

So here I am on Planet X,
yackin’ away at strangers
Costco:  Hello
Blank stare – nothin' there
except for me (talkin’ to my self)
Am I crazy or somethin’?
Am I in this world alone?
Honing in now on the shoe shelf – Nice pair a shoes
Again – nothin’
Okay, so everyone’s stressed,
out of touch
I get it
But I’m in the same bloody mess
and I understand. . .
So let’s band together, Fellow Costco Shoppers!
What else can ya do?
Let’s hear it for World Peace, Yeah!
We "are" in the same family (aren’t we?)
Communicate with me. . .
There she is Mrs. Friendly (The Hot Caliente’ Lady)
Actually, I thought all those stainless steel boxes
with the nice people behind them
were serving up samples of Hot Caliente’ – really
Silly me
Hello, Sir How do you do?
Tight lipped, but he almost slipped
I thought I heard a grunt from Mr. Grump
No dice, Lady
Back to Hot Caliente’
Then the next. . .
and the next
Is Life really that complex,
or am I alone
on Planet X ?

Gossip and Backbiting

Gossip and Backbiting

It's no fun to be talked about,
to be the butt of a joke
It chokes the life right out of you
It hurts your soul
Backbiting quencheth the light of the heart,
and extinguisheth the life of the soul.
(Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u'llah)*
He’s right
It is "so" wrong
I used to think nothing of it,
to talk about another,
a friend, a sister, a brother,
with negativity,
until it was done to me
I never recovered,
the part that died,
with a little bit of my soul,
inside

Breathe not the sins of others so long as thou art a sinner. (Baha’u’llah, Hidden Words)

What if?

What if?

What if I wasn’t called, Fatstuff?
Would I be any different today?
Would I look in the mirror, now thinner
and say,
Linda ~ you should be slimmer. . .
Would I love myself any more,
accept myself and be sure,
that I am the person I should be,
or could be?
Am I trying to please them, not me?
Nope!
I got over it,
through it
Poop on them!
Ooops – I was called Poopsie too
Poopsie and Fatstuff
Now that’s enough to make a girl rough,
around the edges
make her not like who she is, get tough
resentful, defensive,
but I’m not
I’m sensitive ~ good, and kind,
because I left my past behind,
the bad part,
the sad heart,
like all little girl’s should,
if they could

What if ?

What if ?

Okay, so what if the end really “does” justify the means
What does this mean?
Thousands upon thousands of lives were lost,
in wars
for us to have peace?
I don’t see it getting any Peacier
or any easier,
except for the Few,
not for me or you,
maybe for the one percent,
who’s profits are spent
on another war, or two
I’d rather belong to the majority
Hey you guys – we have seniority!
I have an idea!
This is the plan –
I will make cash out of making you laugh –
you pay me a dime for creating a rhyme,
then I’ll give my profits to you,
You'll spend more on Peace – Wars will then cease,
and We will be one of the Few
I’m in,
How about you?

Just look at 'im

Just look at 'im

Just look at ‘im
The gaze
The innocence
The acceptance
Just look at ‘im
You were that way
until life got you
Hurried you up
Buried you up
in the big bad world
hurled at you
Give it up
Let it go
back to the cradle
if you are able
If you can’t
or won’t,
then don’t
Just look at ‘im
