My dream last night - July 13, 2012

Moon Dancer

In my dream last night, I went
outside
to my deck
Eyes fixed open
wide toward dark skies,
the crescent moon turned
into a beautiful woman,
an angel dancer,
in white dress
She moved. . . so. . . slowly. . .
slower than human eyes should see,
hands turned up
then down,
forming a swan's neck
Her sign language spoke
only to me
I wept

Empty Walls

collage: U-district, Seattle, July 10, 2012

Empty Walls

Empty walls are creepy
Chill
Drug School is Free
Peace of mind
Real Change is here
No Crying Babies
Phone home
Obey
B of A
Aged out,
Hippie

He plays

photo: alan

He plays

He plays his guitar alone
while I make poems
humming
He sings upstairs
while I write lyrics
to chords I hear
him strumming
up there
playing
his guitar

The Theory of Relative-ity

The Theory of Relative – ity

Relatives:
We all have them
If you don’t you’re not here
In order to know how this relative thing works,
understand and appreciate first of all
we all have the same bloodline
Genetics – vary
Depending on which side of the family you pooled
more from
Some have a mixture of many ~ ~ ~ stretching back centuries
So if you have a trait unlike your siblings, or cousins (that is if you have any)
Celebrate your uniqueness, your differences
This is the first lesson in the Theory of Relative-ity
Secondly: some of you may not be aware of the fact that everyone on this planet
is at least a 52nd cousin
Whoopee – a Party!
Let’s have a Family Reunion…
A union of sorts – Cohorts!
Would you let your sister starve?
Your cousin?
Your brother?
Your mother?
Would you sit around and go – La-de-da…♪♪
95% of my family must struggle for survival while I bask in luxury
If so – you are not of this Family, this Tribe
You inherited the ‘genes’ of the ungodly,
But you can change your ways…and join the
Party!
How?
This is another story
Stay tuned for, “How to live in God’s Glory”.

'Til the rain

'Til the rain

Clouds of dust encircled me on the north forty plain,
‘til the rain
and that was the day that the bumble bee caused me a lot of pain
I was roundin’ the cattle ~ was ‘bout noon, I think
The day was as still as the midnight moon, the sky a blistery pink,
The fire started at Pecos Place,
the Sheriff was combin’ the town,
when in walked old Charlie from Memphis,
that’s when the shootin' went down
The Sheriff ~ he shot old Charlie,
but Charlie ~ he shot him too
before he went down he pulled out a stick that he had shoved down in his shoe
It went off with a blast
Pecos Place saw its last,
then windstorms from south ~ ~ ~ up dey blew
Clouds of dust encircled me on the north forty plain,
‘til the rain
and that was the day that the bumble bee caused me a lot of pain.

Slanted Bed

Slanted Bed

Wears a cross on a thread
around her head,
in a broken dream on a slanted bed
Takes to the table all that she’s able,
no more, no less
Feels no need to confess to another,
forsakes her life for her brother
Simple lady,
wears a cross on a thread
around her head,
in a broken dream on a slanted bed

Sand Castles

photo: bestsoylatte.blogspot.com

Sand Castles
Well now I feel stupid
with bare feet on pavement, hot
building castles from sand
worn once on beaches
where you lay
watching me
Teaches me to not believe what I see,
in my illusion worn, thin
as I drip into forms,
castles of sand on hot pavement
