My Family (for Ella G.)
I think a family is a group that has spent a very, very long time together
In the child’s mind, time is forever
To be clear ~ one seventh of her time here on earth is a year
One sixty fifth for me
A shorter span
A flash in the pan
No wonder Christmas takes ten times longer to return for Ella
A tenth of the time for me
It’s all relative,
like families should be ~
a group who cares,
and shares,
so you‘ll never be alone
at home
