Baby at Steak

Give it to them slowly, one piece at a time.
Tell them “No” – not “Maybe”
and  don’t give a steak to a Baby.
Be patient and kind; Stern when you need to be,

tell them only what they can understand.
Don't drive yourself crazy.  Don’t give a steak to a baby.
Give them a job when they are young
or they may grow up lazy, but likewise again,
don’t give a steak to a Baby. They don't take the trash out at Two.

So no matter what you do, don't give a steak to a baby,
They surely will fail.
Read them a nursery rhyme, not a fable;
It’s too much to swallow until they are able
to digest it - the answer to a riddle
or until they have guessed it

for themselves.
